About Me

My name is Nicoletta, I am a writer who lives in Los Angeles, California and who has been collecting and wearing vintage for over fifteen years. Besides being a writer and vintage collector, I am also a certified history geek. I started this blog to showcase some of the vintage items I have collected over the years as well as give the story behind the era the garments are from.

When I am not writing this blog, I am still writing because I am a writer. I write both fiction and non-fiction (mostly historical and having to do with crime in Los Angeles.) I am also a screenwriter.

Some of my favorite designers ( vintage): Paul Poiret, Christian Dior, Cristobal Balenciaga, Adrian, Lucille,  Jeanne Lanvin, Mary Quant, Elsa Sciaparelli, Coco Chanel, Biba, Diane Von Furstenberg, Lilly Pulitzer, Emilio Pucci, Lucille, Mariano Fortuney, Roberta Di Camerino, Madeleine Vionnet.

Some of my favorite modern designers are: Dolce and Gabbana, Prada, Miu Miu, Valentino, Carolina Herrera, Diane Von Furstenburg, Lilly Pulitzer, Alexander Mcqueen, Oscar De La Renta.

My favorite years for fashion are 1910s, 1920s, 1930s, some 1940s, 1960s. I also wear some 1950s and 1970s. Most of my vintage collection consists of pieces between world war one and world war two. (1916-1942) and the two decades closest to my heart are the 1920s and the 1930s. I find the 1930s to be both the most comfortable and most flattering on my body type.

Some Fashion Icons who I admire: Irene Castle, Carole Lombard, Ginger Rodgers, Twiggy, Coco Chanel, Audrey Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Diana Vreeland.

Some random fashion related thing I love: Egyptian revival, Art Deco, Art Nouveau,  mod, boho, novelty prints (1930s/40s), bright colors, bold patterns,  beach pajamas, playsuits, polka dots, nautical, preppy, plaid, leopard print, pearls, hats of all kinds.
